The Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) is on a mission to make taxes simple and easy to understand. Today, the URA tax education team is camping in Atiak district, inviting everyone to come see the bright yellow URA bus and learn about taxes.
For nearly a month, URA teams have been moving across Uganda, going from district to district, meeting traders, manufacturers, contractors, farmers, landlords, students, and local leaders. Their goal is to bring tax education straight to the people, making sure everyone knows how to comply with the law and contribute to national development.
The team goes door to door in Atiak, Pabbo, and other Northern Uganda districts, teaching about VAT, presumptive tax, rental tax, and helping people get Tax Identification Numbers (TINs) if they don’t have one yet. This hands-on approach ensures that even first-time taxpayers leave with a clear understanding of how taxes work.
Earlier in the week, the URA team spent most of Monday in Elegu district, guiding taxpayers on filing returns, understanding presumptive tax, and acquiring TINs. The campaign continues day after day, bringing tax education to markets, homes, and neighborhoods, turning every stop into a mini-classroom for financial empowerment.
The URA’s mobile tax education campaign is not just about rules and paperwork – it is about building awareness, helping people manage their businesses, and making sure everyone can pay taxes correctly. Traders, farmers, landlords, and students are all getting the chance to learn in person, making tax compliance easier than ever before.
