Over the years, Dr. Dennis K. Mugimba has loyally served as the spokesperson for the Ministry of Education & Sports. This has gradually won for him the trust of the First Lady Janet Museveni, who is also the education minister and other political/technical leaders at the Embassy House-based Ministry.
Not very long ago, Mugimba was added the additional responsibility of serving on the all-powerful Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for AFCON 2027. He specifically chairs the Communications and Signage Sub-Committee.
Janet Museveni is the overall chairperson for LOC through which she is determined to deliver a perfect tournament that is scandal-free while at the same time fighting hard to keep away all potential deal-makers who had calculated to fifthly cash in on the AFCON billions. Mugimba now powerfully holds the position of the official spokesperson for the AFCON 2027 footballing event, besides his other more substantive role of speaking for the education ministry.
Yet that isn’t all. The deeply very spiritual Dr. Mugimba now also serves as Janet Museveni’s PPS in charge of technical work relating to her role as Education Minister. Irene T Kauma, the long-serving Personal Assistant, serves as Mama’s PPS in charge of her office as First Lady and in charge of administration at the education Ministry where she powerfully serves as an undersecretary.
Gratefully, the working relationship between the two (Mugimba and Kauma) is cordial as ought to be and their Principal Janet Museveni doesn’t at all regret her decision to have both of them work very close to her in the performance of her official duties both as a Minister and First Lady. They both are privileged to be present at almost each and every official meeting their principal convenes or attends.
There is growing optimism that Dr. Mugimba’s elevation and emancipation will help towards decongesting Irene Kauma’s desk and thereby enabling her to concentrate of fewer tasks while serving her principal even more effectively and efficiently.
