MultiChoice Refreshes DStv and GOtv Channel Line-Up to Simplify Content Discovery

MultiChoice Group, a Canal+ company, is refreshing selected SuperSport and General Entertainment channels on DStv and GOtv as part of efforts to simplify channel navigation, strengthen content destinations and make it easier for customers to find and enjoy the content they value.

Among the changes to channels that took effect on 19th August 2026  are changes to select SuperSport Channels which will be followed by selected General Entertainment channels that are set to take effect from 16th September 2026.

The changes include channel renaming, repositioning, consolidation, new channel launches and adjustments to package availability.

The SuperSport refresh applies across DStv, GOtv and DStv/GOtv Stream. It is designed to give sports fans clearer destinations for different types of sporting content while improving navigation across the platforms.

A new channel, SuperSport Extra 2 on Channel 217, will launch on Premium packages across all markets. The channel will provide additional live sports coverage when multiple sporting events are being broadcast at the same time. Meanwhile SuperSport Variety 1 is being renamed SuperSport Extra on Channel 230.

Among the  other changes on DStv, SuperSport Action moves to Channel 229 and becomes the destination for UFC, PFL and other leading mixed martial arts events. SuperSport WWE moves to Channel 226 and becomes the dedicated home of WWE programming. SuperSport Kick Off, formerly SuperSport Africa, moves to Channel 227 and will focus on selected football matches from competitions including the Premier League, Serie A, LALIGA and Ligue 1. SuperSport Africa, formerly SuperSport Africa 2, moves to Channel 228 and will focus on African sport, including CAF competitions, athletics and combat sports.

On GOtv, SuperSport Football is going to be replaced with SuperSport Kickoff on Channel 361 and SuperSport Africa 2 moves to Channel 361, where it will become SuperSport Football. The changes are part of the broader effort to align channels with specific sports and make content easier to locate.

Despite the changes, customers will continue to have access to major sporting events and the broad range of sports covered by SuperSport, including football, rugby, cricket, motorsport, tennis and African sports. The refresh is intended to reorganise the sports offering rather than reduce sports coverage.

The General Entertainment refresh will take effect on 16th September 2026 and will introduce a more streamlined set of entertainment destinations across DStv and GOtv.

On DStv, M Movies 1 East and M Movies 2 will combine into M Movies+ East on Channel 106, creating a single destination with a broader selection of movies. M Movies 3 will be renamed M Movies Stars on Channel 107, while M Movies 4 will become M Movies Legends on Channel 108.

The same brand changes will apply on GOtv, with M Movies 3 becoming M Movies Stars on Channel 353 and M Movies 4 becoming M Movies Legends on Channel 350.

The changes are intended to create stronger and more clearly defined content destinations. M Movies Stars will continue as a destination for popular and blockbuster movie content, while M Movies Legends will focus on iconic classic movies. The consolidation of M Movies 1 and M Movies 2 will bring complementary movie content together in one destination.

For customers, the changes do not require any action. The channel updates will happen automatically, provided decoders or streaming applications are connected and updated. Customers experiencing issues can restart their decoder or application and allow the channel information to refresh.

The channel changes also do not automatically result in an increase in subscription prices. Customers will continue paying the monthly subscription associated with their package.

Customers can check the updated channel line-up and package information through the DStv and GOtv websites, the MyDStv and MyGOtv apps, or customer care channels.
