By Mulengera Reporters

The latest edition of the Uganda Gazette, which is the official government newspaper and which the mandated Uganda Printing & Publishing Corporation (UPPC) proclaimed this week, shows Uganda’s least and most popular MPs-elect. This is based on the final results of the 15th January elections during which Ugandans voted for their President and legislators to represent them in the legislature for the next 5 years under the 12th Parliament (2026-2031).

According to the official Gazette, Nansana Municipality MP-elect Zambali Mukasa Blasio (of NUP) is the 3rd most popular MP going into the dawning of the 12th Parliament. This is based on the fact that he scored 51,052 votes. In a race of 11 candidates, Zambali was distantly followed by NRM’s Bugaga Idi Matovu who got 17,506 votes. PFF Secretary General Harold Kaija Scandrone only managed 677 votes! Fast-talking Henry Lubowa of DF walked off with 2,022.

Bukedea County’s David Okwera Beecham of the ruling NRM party seems the 1st most popular overall because the EC-gazetted results depict him to have scored 68,013 votes flowed by independent/incumbent Ikojo John Bosco who got 10,458 votes. It was a race of 5 candidates.

Senior Minister Frank Tumwebaze Kagyigyi/NRM also did exceptionally well to retain his Kibaale East County MP Seat in Kawenge.
