On Thursday 12th February, tens of thousands of NRM supporters from Wakiso district will be converging at Wakiso Islamic Secondary Schools Head Teachers’ Association (WAKISSHA) resource center grounds to receive Al-Hajji Moses Kigongo (their First National Vice Chairman) who will represent the President to preside over celebrations for Gen YK Museveni’s victory in the 15th January elections.
The organizers of what is expected to be a vibe-filled massive political event say that there is cause to celebrate because Gen Museveni grew his share of the vote from 2021’s 11% to 37% in 2026-while as a party the ruling NRM won 3 out of 8 MP Seats, 3 of the 4 Town Council Mayors and 22 out of 27 LC3 Chairperson positions in Wakiso district under the 2026 elections.
By doing this, the ruling party hopes to silence those who have been mocking it, while belittling Museveni’s re-election achievement by demanding to know why not euphoric crowds were seen jubilating anywhere as EC Chairman Justice Simon Byabakama announced the results at the Lubowa-based tally center.
