On Thursday, the Luwero-based NRM historical Haji Abdul Nadduli was the guest of honor at a public function in Wobulenzi Town Council as the new LC3 Chairman Moses Sebalamu took oath.
In his speech, Nadduli thanked Gen Museveni for finally cracking the whip against corruption by authorizing a public inquiry and investigations into the alleged corruption and illicit enrichment by outgoing Speaker of Parliament Anita Among.
Nadduli observed that Among had become a problem to a lot of people and that her impunity had become so obvious to the extent that the NRM risked losing power if nothing was done to end her anomalous conduct. He called on the ordinary Ugandans to support the President’s stand against Anita Among-like corruption which he observed was costing the country a fortune.
Nadduli also called on the new Mayor and his councilors and executive members to govern with humility and honesty while deliberately avoiding indulgence into corruption and financial impropriety which he said could make them end their political careers badly like has been the case with Anita Among.
He added that the President is very serious this time around and that no wrongdoer is going to mess up with public funds and keep getting away with it like Anita Among has been doing since becoming Speaker in March 2022.
The gathering cheered and community leaders openly thanked Museveni for finally cracking the whip. They demanded that the same action be taken against all the other corrupt actors in government who have been operating in concert with Anita Among.
