We register sincere condolences to the people of Tooro and Uganda over the passing on of His Majesty King Oyo of Tooro. This is a big loss not only to the people of Tooro but all of us Ugandans and humanity.
His Vision for Tooro and the country was amazing and too inspiring ! When I was Chairman of Uganda Tourism Board, he gave us alot of support to market Tooro and Uganda’s tourism attractions.
He climbed the top of Mount Rwenzori, as a contribution to conserving the Rwenzori eco-system and tourism and marketing our Adventure Tourism based on the Rwenzori.
Prior to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic he was organizing a World conference of all the Heads of Loyal Families in the world to come to Uganda. This was going to promote and market the attractions of Tooro and Uganda as a country.
He supported agro- tourism by taking many of us to tour his model farm which was also supplying farm products to the various tourism centers around Fort Portal and Tooro. May the Soul of His Majesty King Oyo rest in eternal peace.
