Equity Bank Uganda has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening partnerships with the Church of Uganda following its participation in the opening ceremony of the Provincial Assembly at Uganda Christian University (UCU) in Mukono.
The bank’s delegation, led by Managing Director Gift Shoko and Public Sector and Social Investments Director Catherine Psomgen, joined Church leaders, including His Grace Archbishop Stephen Kaziimba, bishops, and UCU leadership at the event.
During the gathering, Equity Bank highlighted areas of collaboration with the Church of Uganda aimed at promoting sustainable community development. The partnership focuses on key sectors including agriculture, environmental conservation, health, education, and commercial initiatives.
Shoko said the partnership reflects a shared vision of creating meaningful social and economic impact, noting that the identified areas align with Equity Bank’s social investment pillars and the Africa Recovery and Resilience Programme (ARRP).
The bank said the collaboration seeks to support initiatives that contribute to improved livelihoods, empower communities, and address development challenges through joint efforts.
The Church of Uganda remains one of Equity Bank’s strategic partners, with both institutions working together on programmes designed to benefit communities across the country.
The opening ceremony brought together religious leaders, education stakeholders, and partners to discuss matters of shared interest and strengthen relationships that contribute to Uganda’s social and economic progress.
Equity Bank Uganda said it will continue working with key stakeholders to advance initiatives that promote inclusive growth and resilience among communities.
