Ugandan music icon, performer and award-winning actress Cinderella Okuyo, popularly known as Cindy Sanyu, has been nominated for Best Actress in TV Drama/Series at the Uganda Film Festival (UFF) 2026.
Cindy earns the nomination for her performance as Delilah “Didi” in Crossroads, a drama series aired on Pearl Magic Prime. Her portrayal of the ambitious and manipulative Didi has brought a strong and memorable presence to the series, adding intensity and conflict to its unfolding storyline.
The nomination adds another milestone to Cindy’s growing career as a screen actress, building on her achievements as one of Uganda’s most recognisable music performers.
Cindy made her acclaimed film debut in Bella, before appearing in November Tear. Her transition from music into acting has allowed her to showcase another side of her creative talent, earning recognition from audiences and the wider entertainment industry.
Her role in Crossroads has further established her screen credentials, with the character of Didi giving her an opportunity to explore a complex personality driven by ambition, manipulation and determination.
