WINNIE KIIZA NOT OURS, M7 COMPROMISED HER: SAYS YUSUF NSIBAMBI

Counsel Yusuf Nsibambi with fellow Senior FDC leaders Reagan Okumu & others during a party meeting

By Our Reporters

FDC founder member and long time financier of opposition political activities & candidates Sr Counsel Yusuf Nsibambi has said that all Kasese FDC MPs have been compromised & bought off by M7 using money disguised as support for community projects in their respective constituencies. Using the example of Kasese Municipality MP Robert Centenary whom he says was compromised with Shs200m disguised as development cash for his constituency, Nsibambi said: “Now for us as FDC in Kasese we are finished. All our MPs there have been comprised and bought off by President Museveni including the Leader of Opposition Winnie Kiiza. They are no longer ours. The only exception is (Busongora North) MP William Nzoghu.” Yusuf Nsibambi, who many take very seriously because he is objective, moderate, connected and rarely speaks wolokoso, was speaking this Saturday morning on CBS radio’s very popular program called Parliament Yaffee (our Parliament) that airs every Saturday morning.A diehard Besigye supporter, Nsibambi has been a panelist on this program for years. Celebrated veteran moderator Med Nsereko had called on his panelists (Nsibambi, Abed Bwanika, RDC Kyeyune Senyonjo & Imam Kasozi) to discuss the implications of government borrowing from commercial banks to pay civil servants’ salaries and if there is hope Parliament could save the situation by blocking it. Nsibambi said there is no hope because even what used to be opposition in Parliament is gradually being obliterated by Museveni using money. He then gave the example of Winnie Kiiza and other Kasese MPs. Nsibambi, who has always been ambivalent and unclear about his future political plans, immediately thereafter on the same radio program announced his plans to join Parliament in 2021 representing Mawokota South in Mpigi district currently being represented by JB Lubyayi of NRM. He says he is wealthy, experienced and not coming to Parliament to look for a job. That he has a name to protect meaning he can’t betray voters. Nsibambi said his idea and plan is to mobilize a minimum of 70 like-minded eminent and financially well accomplished Buganda to go and seek Parliamentary positions in 2021. He says while in Parliament, this group will give leadership independent of manipulation by the executive and thereby set standards on which future MPs can be measured.
