Ex-Kyamuswa County MP has fallen in things once again. Mulengera news website can impeccably reveal that the man, who voluntarily quit as Kyamuswa/Kalangala MP in 2016, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary General for the Arusha-based EAC. Lwanga, who operationally is very close to and very much appreciated by the 1st Family, of course got the job with the active backing of President YK Museveni whose supremacy and influence on the regional bloc is legendary and well known. The wealthy Muganda man, said to be in the evening of his life, has always been very loyal to Museveni and his latest posting shows that the man from Rwakitura always rewards those that support him consistently. We are told Lwanga will be earning a monthly salary of more USD25,000 plus many more other material benefits. He isn’t the first Ugandan to administratively eat big in Arusha others being Amanya Mushega, Beatrice Kiraso, Jessica Eriyo, Victor Nkeramihigo and others. Lwanga, a very successful businessman, has also been carrying many other responsibilities for Museveni including being a member of the Makerere visitation committee and the very influential Presidential Budget Advisory Board which advises the President on budgetary matters. In terms of the logistics and clout, Tim Lwanga’s latest posting puts him at a level near that of the Prime Minister or one of his Deputies. We wish Mweshimewa Tim Lwanga the best in Arusha.
