More shocking details have emerged regarding what happened at Bulange earlier on Saturday when Dr. Kizza Besigye came face to face with a small crowd of people who claimed to be Bobi Wine’s supporters. Besigye was coming from CBS where Med Nsereko had featured on Parliament Yaffe program. As we reported earlier a group of rowdy DP politicians who had come for Martin Oscar Kintu’s Mambo Bado program behaved provocatively towards Dr. Besigye. Our investigations have revealed that the rowdy group was led by Chief Mbowa Moses aka Kawandula Bigambo and a one Kabuka who has since privately apologized to the FDC leadership over his participation. The Mbowa crowd was in two categories including one that engaged in bloody fist fights with Besigye’s supporters in the Bulange parking and another that concentrated on chanting “Twagala Bobi nga Sente.”
BESIGYE REACTION
The fracas outside the Bulange/Masengere gate begun a few minutes before Besigye finished his program with Med Nsereko. The radio management along with lawyer Yusuf Nsibambi who escorted Besigye had advised that the retired Colonel uses the small gate and exits Bulange incognito to avoid being humiliated by the Mbowa group. However, saying that “I’m used to these things,” Besigye insisted on exiting through the main entrance because that’s where he passed on arrival. He indeed went in that direction and on reaching the parking where he had left the Ipsum car in which he came, Besigye walked over to where the Mbowas were chanting from. “You are all my fellow strugglers and I’m here to interact with you and urge you against the possibility of being infiltrated and used by the NRM to drive a wedge between me and my brother Bobi Wine,” Besigye defiantly addressed the group outside the Masengere gate as young men from the nearby Boda stage and washing bay came to cheer him on. He also equally urged his own supporters led by Makolo Kavuma who were fist fighting with the Mbowa group to disperse. Thereafter, Besigye drove to his Katonga road office in a three vehicle convoy as the cheerful Boda riders gave a chase. His supporters have insisted that Abed Bwanika who had wanted to appear with him for the show (a request the CBS management declined) must have had a hand in the actions exhibited by the Mbowa group.
