The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) is set to roll out a new digital platform aimed at making access to water services faster and more convenient for customers across Uganda.
In a teaser posted on its official X account, the state-owned utility announced the upcoming launch of NWSC Duuka, describing it as a digital water shop that will enable customers to access a range of services directly from their mobile phones.
The corporation said the platform is designed to simplify customer interactions by bringing essential water services onto a single digital platform. Although NWSC did not disclose the exact launch date or provide detailed information about the services that will be available, it said the initiative is intended to make managing customer needs “faster, easier, and more conveniently than ever before.”
“Coming soon from the National Water and Sewerage Corporation, NWSC Duuka brings water services right to your phone,” the utility said in its announcement, urging customers to stay tuned for the official launch.
The introduction of NWSC Duuka marks another step in the corporation’s ongoing efforts to embrace digital technology and improve customer service. The utility has in recent years expanded its use of online platforms to enhance communication with customers, facilitate bill payments and provide timely updates on water supply, maintenance works and service interruptions.
Industry observers say digital customer service platforms are becoming increasingly important as utility providers seek to reduce the need for physical visits to service centers while improving efficiency and accessibility.
The announcement suggests that NWSC Duuka will function as an electronic branch, allowing customers to access services remotely through their smartphones. Such platforms typically enable users to manage accounts, request services, make payments and receive updates without visiting utility offices.
The corporation has encouraged customers to follow its communication channels for further details regarding the platform’s official launch and the range of services it will offer.
NWSC, which provides water and sewerage services to urban centers across Uganda, has continued to invest in technology-driven solutions as part of its broader strategy to improve service delivery and enhance customer experience.
The utility concluded its announcement with its long-standing slogan, “Water is Life,” signaling its continued commitment to delivering reliable and accessible services to customers nationwide.
