As schools across the country break off for the end of term, parents and guardians are being encouraged to ensure uninterrupted power supply at home to create a comfortable environment for children returning for the holidays.
In a customer advisory issued this week, Equity Bank Uganda reminded households that the transition period often comes with increased home activity, making reliable electricity access more important than ever. The bank emphasized that keeping the lights on contributes to a safe, warm, and supportive home atmosphere for learners during their time off school.
To make bill payments more convenient, the bank highlighted several digital channels available to customers. These include the Equity Mobile App, Equity Online for Business, and the *247# USSD service, all designed to allow quick and easy settlement of electricity bills without the need to visit physical service points.
According to the bank, the digital platforms enable customers to complete transactions in a few simple steps, ensuring that essential services such as electricity remain uninterrupted. The move also aligns with ongoing efforts to promote cashless banking and improve financial accessibility across households and businesses.
With many families preparing for increased household usage of electricity during the holiday season, timely bill payments are being encouraged to avoid disruptions that could affect daily routines, study time, and family activities.
Financial experts note that managing utility payments promptly helps households maintain better budgeting discipline while avoiding penalties or disconnections that can cause inconvenience, especially during high-demand periods.
Equity Bank Uganda reiterated its commitment to supporting customers with practical financial solutions that fit into their everyday lives. By leveraging digital banking tools, families can manage essential payments efficiently and focus on enjoying quality time together.
As children return home for the holidays, the bank is encouraging parents to take advantage of these services to ensure their homes remain bright, comfortable, and welcoming throughout the season.
