The recent amicable settlement reached between UNRA and Dott Services, entered mostly at the prompting of technocrats at the Justice Ministry and AG Chambers, has ironically created chaos and sparked speculation at the Authority’s head offices in Nakawa. Since Monday, UNRA employees who had taken it that Dott Services was an evil company which UNRA had to relentlessly and permanently fight, have been gathering in small groups to reflect on how fast things can change. Some are questioning the circumstances under which UNRA top management was able to easily agree with a company whose directors they always greatly hated. These small group discussions, mostly based on speculative information, had as of Wednesday grown into something bigger with employees openly calling it betrayal by the UNRA top management.

Sources say that some of the aggrieved employees were planning to petition the Board Chairman Fred Omach to compel top management to come up with a comprehensive explanation accounting for this change of heart that many employees still consider curious. “Some guys are so disappointed to the extent that if no general explanation is given providing context to this matter they may even resign in protest,” said a knowledgeable source close to the UNRA Board Chairman Fred Omach.
