The Managing Director of Equity Bank Uganda, Mr. Gift Shoko, has warmly welcomed guests from across the world who are attending the ongoing Equity Investors’ Trade Mission at Four Points Hotel in Kampala.
The colourful event, under the theme “Exploring Trade and Investment Opportunities in Uganda”, is attracting business leaders and investors from countries such as Ethiopia, Dubai, Kenya, Egypt, DRC, and Sri Lanka.
While giving his opening remarks, Mr. Shoko assured the guests that they are in the right place at the right time, proudly describing Uganda as “one of the best, if not the best country in Africa for investment”, encouraging them to look no further than the Pearl of Africa for business opportunities.
“You are most welcome,” he said, adding that Uganda is rich in opportunities and very ready to receive investors. At Equity Bank, we are here to support you fully. You will not walk this journey alone.”
Mr. Shoko also took time to highlight that the Equity Trade Mission, which began in Kenya in 2021, was introduced in Uganda only last year, and Equity Bank remains the only financial institution organising such a platform.
He explained that the mission brings together investors, business people, and experts from various sectors to connect, share ideas, and explore possibilities for partnership and growth.
The event was graced by the State Minister for Investment and Trade, Hon. Evelyn Anite, who is the guest of honour.
The Trade Mission has attracted key players from industries such as Security, ICT, Trade, Logistics & Transportation, Investment Advisory, Petroleum, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Mining, Water Engineering, Health, and Agriculture.
With smiles, hope, and ambition, the Mission is not only opening doors for global partnerships but also putting Uganda on the map as a destination of choice for serious investors.
