Shockwaves in Mukono! Dr. Daisy Nabatanzi Storms Nyanja as Nambooze Camp Trembles

Mukono Municipality was set ablaze this weekend as Dr. Daisy Sonko Nabatanzi, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag bearer, unleashed her long-awaited campaign rallies sending shockwaves through the camp of incumbent MP Betty Nambooze Bakireke of the National Unity Platform (NUP).

The fiery launch at Nyanja, Bukerere in Goma Division was nothing short of a political earthquake.

Crowds lined the roads, cheering wildly as Dr. Nabatanzi’s convoy rolled through.

The air was electric with supporters chanting her name and waving NRM flags high.

True to her compassionate nature, Dr. Nabatanzi, a mother, mentor, and devout Born-Again Christian stopped to greet jubilant schoolchildren and supporters who had waited for hours under the scorching sun just to catch a glimpse of her.

When she finally took the microphone at Nyanja, the atmosphere exploded. “Mukono deserves a performer, not a talkative MP!” she declared, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

The confident NRM flag bearer highlighted her track record creating over 500 jobs, offering more than 700 bursaries to youth and students, and promising even greater opportunities once elected.

She pledged to empower boda boda riders through the UGX 400 million livelihood fund initiated by President Museveni, insisting that “the time for real service delivery is now.”

Religious and political leaders stood in solidarity with her message.

Rev. Isaac Muka from St. Peter’s Church of Uganda delivered a fiery sermon urging leaders to serve people, not their stomachs, and warned voters against political double standards.

Meanwhile, Hajji Haruna Ssemakula, the NRM Chairman for Mukono District, electrified the crowd by affirming party unity and dropping a political bombshell declaring that Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba is the rightful successor to President Museveni.

As the rally reached its climax, Dr. Nabatanzi struck a humble but powerful note. “Our problem in Mukono isn’t about parties, it’s about service. Let’s fix our roads, our health centers, our future,” she urged.

With eyes set on 2026, she vowed to deliver an 85% victory for President Museveni in Buganda, a region once seen as opposition stronghold territory.
