On Tuesday 23rd June, President Museveni drove to Njeru Municipality in Buikwe Municipality where he campaigned for NRM Mayoral candidate Yasin Kyazze. At one of the rallies he addressed, Museveni (who was accompanied by other NRM heavyweights like Capt Mike Mukula) disappointingly noticed the conspicuous absence of two NRM MPs from the district namely Judith Babirye (woman MP) and Paul Musoke Sebulime (Buikwe North). He then turned to ask the other organizers present about why the two MPs were absent yet this was the time the party required the presence and active participation of all its area leaders to boost mobilization. The crowd that was clearly against the two bonking legislators, loudly responded “twabakoowa.”
Museveni gestured as if he hasn’t heard properly prompting the crowd to chorus “they are busy rehearsing love-making at their home ahead of their introduction which is due next weekend.” As if he was aware of anything regarding the controversial introduction ceremony, Museveni sought more clarification prompting a young man in the crowd to describe the couple’s endless love-making sessions using words that were too obscene we can’t even repeat them here. Museveni then said “ooh okay that’s their business” and carried on with his address but disgust and disappointment was clearly written on his face regarding the two MPs’ conspicuous absence on such a politically very significant gathering. Knowledgeable sources close to the two legislators, whose public displays of affection has angered many, say that Babirye strategically stayed away and advised her concubine Musoke to do the same fearing being heckled before the President. “She still naively thinks she stands a chance to be made a minister and calculated that being heckled in front of the big man would diminish her chances at ministerial appointment,” knowledgeable sources said about Babirye who remains one of the most resented MPs Buikwe has ever produced. Many voters have never forgiven her for the betrayal with which she voted on the Togikwatako issue last December. In fact the disappointment the President suffered at the rally has since emboldened many other NRM cadres to begin positioning themselves to oust the two ill-fated legislators come 2021.
