Leveraging Prime Airtime Kabaka’s CBS Has Generously Availed to State House, Moses Byaruhanga Vows to Deliver The Kampala Win for M7 Come 15th Jan

By Mulengera Reporters

We don’t know whether its for money or something else but one thing is clear-namely that the management at Kabaka’s CBS radio, based at Mengo and which is also the most listened to radio in Buganda region, has concluded that there is nothing wrong with aiding the re-election of Gen YK Museveni to carry on as Uganda’s President come 15th January 2026.

The very influential media house, which boasts of 88.8fm and 89.2fm both of which are very popular among millions of people living in Uganda’s central region, has dedicated two hours of prime time every Tuesday to be exclusively used by State House to publicize the great things Gen Museveni has done and all the reasons why the big man from Rwakitura deserves to be re-elected.

The prime time is between 7-9pm every Tuesday and this is one of the most listened to periods on the two CBSs because this time is exclusively dedicated to political discussions, debates and punditry.

The State House has designated Senior Presidential Advisor Moses Byaruhanga, one of the most eloquent spin doctors for the regime, and he is currently the one overseeing the overall coordination of Gen Yoweri Museveni’s re-election campaign effort (with private coordination offices at Kololo) to be the one to appear every Tuesday to make use of that prime time.

Byaruhanga is also the man Gen Museveni designated to be his contact person at the Electoral Commission where he is mandated to represent the NRM candidate along with lawyer Edwin Karugire, who proudly marries first daughter Natasha Museveni, who continues to flank the President at public rallies in the absence of First Lady Janet Museveni (who being a busy Minister can’t afford to be at each and every rally).

Byaruhanga is also the man representing the President’s views, authoritatively, on all major radio and TV platforms including prime shows like NBS’ Frontline and the Capital Gang on Capital fm every Saturday. He is also the man representing the Presidents views every Wednesday on KFM’s Hotseat where he keeps explaining the contents of Gen Museveni’s Manifesto, which he co-authored with regime ideologues.

He has now been offered two hours of prime time every Tuesday (7-9pm) to reach millions of Kabaka’s subjects on CBS radio’s Kiriza oba Gana program. Lameck Kalule, who along with Dr. Sam Kazibwe has ably replaced the excommunicated veteran moderator Med Nsereko, has been designated to be the man to host Moses Byaruhanga every Tuesday for two hours.

The man, who has been busy destroying the NUP political messaging by illustrating how and why Kyagulanyi’s manifesto promises, including that relating to strengthening of cooperatives, are in-achievable and mere grand deception and utopia, will be appearing for the Tuesday program alone to  lecture millions of disgruntled Baganda youths on why even at 80 years of age, Gen Museveni still remains the best President this country of 46m people can have for the next five years (2026-2031).

For this week, Byaruhanga had his inaugural weekly CBS appearance during which he freely debated with disgruntled opposition supporters who kept calling into the studios. As always, Byaruhanga (a leading idealogue inside NRM) had figures illustrating what Gen Museveni has done with the trillions annually collected in the taxes URA collects.

He enumerated public infrastructure projects, especially in Kampala, which the NRM government has worked on and delivered in this current term of government and also pointed out those which are upcoming after Gen Museveni secures a fresh mandate on 15th January.  Lameck Kalule, who continues to be criticized by foot soldiers for never hosting Robert Kyagulanyi, allowed Byaruhanga all the time he desired and even aided him corroborate his points on those occasional moments where his Luganda would struggle and fail him.

Saying he had enjoyed debating with opposition supporters, during the call-in segment, Byaruhanga said he was eagerly looking forward to the resumption of the same next Tuesday. He called on the listeners to prepare all their questions and areas they want clarification on ahead of his upcoming appearance next Tuesday. He assured all and sundry that nothing would be left unclarified since the King had pleased to have him appear on his CBS radio every week.

Byaruhanga has been one of the longest serving Musevenists and loyal assistants inside State House and this has made him to be the most knowledgeable ideologue and most influential ‘adult in the room’ as Gen Museveni, for whom he has loyally worked since leaving University in the 1990s, seeks re-election at a time when many equally knowledgeable seniors have long been relegated to the periphery as the young Turks take center stage.

Carefully mentored by some of the most grounded senior cadres the Movement has ever hard, Byaruhanga has all the institutional memory because he has been at the core of Museveni’s re-election campaigns since 2001. In the subsequent 2006, 2011, 2016 and to an extent the COVID-constrained 2021, he was thickly involved in the drafting of the ruling party’s Manifesto and popularization or dissemination of the same. Over that period, he has gotten to know all the government information the way he knows the back of his palm.

He also has unfettered access to the President and he is always value addition when it comes to things like doing research feeding into the big man’s public speeches. Moses Byaruhanga also knows the public service of Uganda, both at the central and local government levels, equally the way he knows the back of his palm. He has identified and recruited cadres for the system many of whom are now serving as security agency chiefs, government spies, Permanent Secretaries and even Ministers. He is an intellectual who equally is well connected with decision makers who matter at all the public Universities of Uganda.

There is barely any public servant, civil servant or official who doesn’t realize the need to secure Moses Byaruhanga’s endorsement and backing on anything rotating around the President.

The man, who is closely related to First Lady Janet Museveni through marriage and has the ear of the President on virtually everything and is speculated to be a future PPS or even Secretary General of NRM or some other powerful position in the post-2026 Uganda, is clearly determined to do all he can to make sure his master Gen YK Museveni not only bounces back in 2026 but also win with unprecentedly high electoral percentage.

Also closely working with others like Madina Nsereko (who State House badly wants to see become the new Kawempe South MP), SPA Mariam Namayanja, State House Comptroller Jane Barekye, Kampala Special region NRM Chairman Salim Uhuru and a few others, Moses Byaruhanga is working day and night to ensure that, for the first time since 1996, Gen Museveni once again wins the popular vote in Kampala.

The same is being targeted to happen in the other Greater Kampala Metropolitan area districts both for Gen YK Museveni and several other NRM flag-bearing candidates. This partly explains why State House, which has been Moses Byaruhanga’s place of work for the last more than 30 years, has realized the need to partner with Kabaka’s very influential CBS radio, along with its sister media platform called BBS TV.
