Here’s What Nandala Told Voters in Apac

Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Secretary General Nandala Mafabi has urged residents of Akokoro Subcounty in Apac District to vote for his party, saying it offers practical solutions to the region’s long-standing economic challenges.

Speaking at a community gathering, Mafabi noted that the area is naturally fertile, particularly for cotton and cassava but said many households remain trapped in poverty.

He attributed this to what he described as deliberate government neglect that has left citizens dependent and unable to demand accountability.

Mafabi said the FDC manifesto provides “tangible solutions,” including an ambitious plan to improve road infrastructure.

He criticized the current road construction system, claiming that corruption leads to significant losses.

He also promised that an FDC government would revive cooperative societies to strengthen farmers’ bargaining power and re-establish the Agricultural Bank to offer affordable credit to farmers.

Additionally, he pledged a monthly stipend of UGX 60,000 for elderly citizens aged 65 and above.

Mafabi told supporters that he was seeking their vote to serve them and address the issues affecting their livelihoods.

After his campaign activities in Apac, Mafabi proceeded to Kole District, where he delivered a similar message. He is scheduled to continue his mobilisation in Gulu City on the following day.
