Stephen Sekigozi Musisi, the DP-leaning city lawyer who has politically been fighting Busiro South MP Peter Sematimba, will evidently stop at nothing in his endeavors to bring down Kaddunabi Lubega the CEO for Insurance Regulation Authority (IRA). Sekigozi started recently by taking Kaddunabi to court accusing him of negligence but now wants the same man to be criminally prosecuted for failing to reign in insurance companies that exploit Ugandans on the issue of 3rd party insurance. Through his lawyers, Tropical Law Advocates based at Workers House, Sekigozi wants Kaddunabi to be criminally prosecuted for allegedly neglecting his duties as the regulator of insurance industry.

Sekigozi, who recently filed a case in the High Court challenging IRA’s ineptness when it comes to imposition and collection of motor 3rd party insurance, has now written to the IGG Irene Mulyagonja asking her to share some of the criminally very implicating information she has on Kaddunabi whom she has been investigating for some time now following whistle blower allegations IRA insiders have been making against him. In his letter, copied to the President, Sekigozi implores the IGG to rise to the occasion and positively respond to his request.
Sekigozi’s anger started from the recent experience he suffered at Kabuusu in Rubaga where he was brutally arrested by traffic police officers simply because he hadn’t conspicuously displayed his 3rd party insurance on his vehicle. He was detained and his vehicle impounded at Katwe police station and the moment he was released, Sekigozi declared war on Kaddunabi’s unfair insurance regulation policies which he says are anti-people. Sekigozi informs the IGG that because some of the concerns he has against Kaddunabi border on criminality, he will be proceeding to privately prosecute the IRA CEO in the courts of law. He also copies his letter to the DPP Mike Chibita who, by law, is mandated to have the last word on matters regarding private prosecution. For comments, call/text/whatsapp us on 0703164755.
