In a press conference held on Tuesday, February 31, Pastor Jakson Ssenyonga of Christian Life Church challenged fellow Pastor, Robert Kayanja of Lubaga Miracle Centre Church, to publicly address and disprove allegations that he sodomized nine boys, accusing the Lubaga preacher of instead using the media to tarnish his (Ssenyonga) name.
Ssenyonga said he was compelled to respond after observing what he described as deliberate distortions of facts and evidence in the ongoing sodomy case at Mwanga II Court in Mengo, insisting that Kayanja and his appologists have, through mainstream media and social media reports, falsely portrayed him as a pursuer of the pastor, diverting public attention from the actual evidence presented in court.
Ssenyonga recalled that in the early years of the sodomy allegations, he personally spoke to Kayanja, urging him to clarify the accusations. He said Kayanja even appeared on Top Radio, where he was offered free airtime to give his side of the story, a move that drew criticism from some fellow pastors. Despite repeated calls and letters to Kayanja when further testimonies from alleged victims emerged, Ssenyonga said Kayanja failed to respond.
“It is now time for Pastor Kayanja to come out and clear his name by disproving the claims of the nine boys who accuse him, rather than facilitating media narratives that smear my reputation,” Ssenyonga said.
The Bwaise pastor also addressed recent reporting by Kayanja’s Channel 44, which claimed that court proceedings had cast doubt on the credibility of evidence. He refuted these claims, asserting that the forensic reports presented in court on Feruary 19th, had been verified and properly approved by the Directorate of Forensic Services, adding that allegations linking him (Ssenyonga) to the forensic expert or suggesting manipulation of evidence were baseless.
Ssenyonga warned bloggers and media personalities pushing false narratives that legal action could be taken against them, emphasizing that attempts to divert attention from the court evidence would not change the facts.(For comments on this story, get back to us on 0705579994 [WhatsApp line], 0779411734 & 041 4674611 or email us at mulengeranews@gmail.com).
