The Disciples of Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among have issued a firm statement dismissing a viral audio clip circulating on social media, which allegedly features the voice of Speaker Anita Among making disparaging remarks about President Yoweri Museveni and key moments in Uganda’s history.
In a press release signed by the group’s National Coordinator, Asiimwe Kenneth, the organization labeled the audio as fake and maliciously intended to mislead the public and create unnecessary controversy. The group emphasized that the content is not consistent with the values or the character of Speaker Anita Among, describing her as an “outspoken person” who has access to appropriate platforms where she can publicly express her views.
“The public should know that the speaker has gotten various platforms where she can address anything she wishes to the president or the public in general,” the statement read. “We therefore urge the public to treat the fake message with the contempt it deserves.”

The Disciples of Rt. Hon. Anita Among is a grassroots-based civic group known for mobilizing support for Speaker Among’s leadership and advocating for national unity through civic engagement. This latest communication underscores the group’s growing concern over the spread of misinformation online and its potential to damage reputations and cause public unrest.
The group did not disclose the origin of the viral clip but affirmed its commitment to safeguarding the integrity of their leader through timely public clarification.
Speaker Anita Among has not made an official statement on the matter yet, but her supporters remain confident in her ability to speak for herself through the proper channels when necessary.
