The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has launched the URSB Connect App, a new mobile application designed to bring the Bureau’s services closer to the public, simplify access to information and enhance customer experience through convenient, technology-driven service delivery.
The application marks another milestone in URSB’s digital transformation journey, providing clients with an additional channel to access services and interact with the Bureau without necessarily visiting its physical offices.
Speaking at the launch, Acting Registrar General, Mr. Mustapher Ntale, said the application demonstrates URSB’s commitment to innovation, accessibility and modernising service delivery.
“Our ambition is to make accessing URSB services easier, faster and more convenient for every Ugandan. The URSB Connect App brings us closer to our clients by placing essential services and information in the palm of their hands. It is another important step in transforming how we serve the public and building a more accessible, responsive and customer-centred institution,” Ntale said.
The URSB Connect App provides a central digital access point to services under the Bureau’s mandate, including company and business name registration, business searches, annual returns, intellectual property services such as trademark-related services, and information relating to insolvency and receivership as well as the chattels registry dubbed SIMPO. It also provides clients with convenient access to relevant service information and support, making interaction with the Bureau simpler and more accessible.
From Long Queues to Seamless Digital Services
The launch builds on URSB’s deliberate transition from predominantly physical and paper-based processes, characterised by long queues and multiple office visits, towards more efficient and accessible online services.
Over the years, the Bureau has invested in digital infrastructure, including online registration platforms and the eRegistry, which provides electronic access to various registration services. The eRegistry, which replaced the Online Business Registration System (OBRS), represents a significant step in modernising the Bureau’s digital service environment.
URSB Connect complements these existing systems by extending access through mobile technology, providing clients with another convenient channel to engage with the Bureau. Together, these innovations advance URSB’s ambition of delivering integrated, technology-enabled services.
Download and Connect
The application is available on the Google Play Store for Android users and the Apple App Store for iPhone users. Clients can search for URSB Connect, download the application and follow the instructions to get started.
URSB encourages businesses, entrepreneurs, professionals and the general public to embrace the application and take advantage of the convenience it offers.
Through this innovation, the Bureau reaffirms its commitment to facilitating business formalisation, improving the business environment and supporting Uganda’s economic development.
