KAGAME CONFIRMS: ALL NOT WELL WITH UGANDA ANYMORE

By Mulengera Reporters
In a wide-ranging interview with the East African newspaper, Rwandan President Paul Kagame has confirmed being at loggerheads with Uganda and Burundi. He says of the two, Burundi is an easier headache to deal with because it’s leaders have opened up and said Rwanda is their only problem. He says this is easier because people can judge for themselves if it’s indeed true that without Rwanda, Burundi would be a much better place than it is today. In Uganda’s case he says it’s complicated because the Kampala leadership believes in managing the existing tensions by remaining conspicuously silent for most of the time. He says the major cause of uneasiness between Kampala and Kigali is because the former has chosen to believe in what Rwandan dissidents based in South Africa keep telling them as opposed to the well corroborated information Rwanda keeps giving them (Kla leaders) from time to time. He advises Kampala to tread more cautiously because those feeding it with information about Kigali’s intentions have calculated that causing war between the two countries in the only way they can strengthen their (rebels)’ political positions against the government of Rwanda. He implies that the Rwandese renegades based in SA have calculated the easiest way they can prevail against Rwanda in case of any military confrontation is by inciting Uganda to fight their proxy wars against Kigali. In the two page interview, Kagame also brags about his humongous achievements as the outgoing AU Summit Chairman and what he plans to achieve for the region as the incoming Chairman of the EAC Summit. He also discusses personal things including why he never sleeps for longer than 8 hours a day…
