The DP faction allied to PDP boss Dr. Abed Bwanika has spoken out on the media wrangling between Norbert Mao and Butambala MP Muwanga Kivumbi. In their narrative, the Bwanika faction members have come to the conclusion that whereas it’s his right to criticize Mao, Kivumbi has acted in a manner that is out of order and therefore deserves to be condemned. In a social media message propagated by SDP’s Henry Lubowa, the faction members say that Kivumbi is fighting Mao because he wants to become the next DP President. They say that Kivumbi did the abominable because DP is a party of discipline whereby competition has to be healthy and respectful. The group says that the language Kivumbi used amounted to crossing the red line and he should therefore be condemned. Lubowa’s statement indicates that they intend to give Kivumbi one more chance by counselling him and in case he doesn’t change, then he will face their full wrath. The statement acknowledges that it’s not easy to prevent such confrontation especially when one wants a position that is being occupied by another. The Bwanika group that is desperate to appease Mao so that he doesn’t crack the whip on them like he did after the Masaka fracas, calls upon Kivumbi to realize the dangers his public attacks on Mao can cause to the party. They advised him to be mindful of the achievements they painfully registered through the reunion caravan which he originally was leading as chairman. For comments, call or text 0752510225.
