Aware that a lot of people are angry with the party’s decision to allocate 2026 tickets the way they did on Friday, NUP President Bobi Wine is understandably nervous and fears that he might at some point have to be targeted personally-so that some physical harm is caused to him by people who are supposed to be his own supporters.
Remedially, Bobi Wine has responded by beefing his own security. His security detail has since been enlarged from the mere five bouncers he has been having all along to something bigger.
Knowledgeable insiders say that a drone-like van has specifically been procured to be wholly dedicated to transporting members of the NUP President’s enlarged security detail.
It’s understandable (with some aggrieved card-rejects threatening to raid Kavule and riot from there) that he will need prayers and even much more personal security as the political hysteria increases in the country as Ugandans count down to 2026.
As can be expected, fear mongers have already started discouraging the young men and women who have volunteered to comprise their leader’s new security detail by making scary reference to what befell previous Kyagulanyi bodyguards such as Eddie Mutwe, Achileo Kivumbi, Kyuma Kya Yesu Baganda Ntege and others.
Whereas the first two are rotting in prison with no end to their predicament in sight (though sources say Achileo Kivumbi recently cracked and is ready to seek forgiveness from Gen Museveni and CDF), Kyuma Kya Yesu fled to exile safety having endured years of political persecution.
