Even when he is down to earth and hates propelling himself into the limelight, Pastor Tom Mugerwa of Mutundwe Christian Fellowship (MCF) is one of Uganda’s easily most recognizable Church Ministers.
He is wealthy, trusted and lives in Muyenga, among other Kampala’s very opulent and powerful neighborhoods.
At the time majority pastors are busy arguing over the Frank Gashumba challenge (daring miracle preachers to go to Mulago and pray to heal the sick), Tom Mugerwa just completed a huge multi-storied apartment-like complex, which will be serving as additional toilet facilities for the thousands of worshippers who daily camp out at his Church premises at Mutundwe.
This is located behind his MCF Church main premises and not very far from the building housing the premises of his MCF radio and Eternal life TV.
All these are located in Kweba Zone Mutundwe parish/ward next to the famous Makutano Recreation Centre. The same is located barely 1km from Wankulukuku Stadium.
The new Church toilet complex sits in the middle of the huge plot of land (stretching over 15 acres), which Pastor Tom Mugerwa has gradually been acquiring very expensively from his neighbors.
His plan is to keep buying out neighbors so that one day that entire Kweba village gets renamed MCF village.
Mutesa II Primary School is one of those establishments the very graceful and rapidly-expanding Pastor Tom bought out to enable his Church Ministry to expand to take care of the ever growing number of worshippers.
The school last year relocated to a better and more spacious space/premises Pastor Tom bought for them across the road, along Kiyimba Close on the leafy Mutundwe hill.
Sources close to the very humble Pastor Tom Mugerwa say that the newly unveiled toilet complex cost several billions of shillings to erect.
Neighbors are tired of new home seekers who keep frequenting the place inquiring/demanding to see the landlord, thinking its a newly unveiled residential apartment.
Talk among Boda riders operating in the area is that, being Uganda’s biggest and most swaggerific toilet facility, the new glittering and imposing structure could end up becoming a tourist attraction.
