Andrew Mwenda Offers to Bring M7 On Kabushenga-Onyango Obbo’s Bad Natives Podcast

By Mulengera Reporters

If all goes well, President Museveni could be a guest of Robert Kabushenga and Charles Onyango Obbo’s very popular podcast-The Bad Natives, in a matter of weeks. The signaling of this was made by Museveni palace influential power broker Andrew Mwenda in a weekend podcast.

Responding to a request by the podcast co-moderator Robert Kabushenga who repeatedly urged and implored him to use his enormous influence and help convince Gen YK Museveni to appear on Bad Natives, Andrew Mwenda implied this is something he has capacity to do and he made it clear that he would communicate the invitation to the President at the earliest opportunity.

Mwenda, who was at State House on Tuesday for one-on-one discussion with the President chiefly about controversial cyber security expert Stephen Nuwagaba, agreed there would be a lot Gen Museveni would be able to personally discuss and debate with his two long lost old friends. Kabushenga said they had realized there are many things which they are curious and have questions about, which clearly only Museveni can authoritatively answer.

Kabushenga had tried to ask many things to Mwenda who kept disclaiming that he is actually not as powerful in the Uganda’s political power universe as the Bad Natives podcast co-moderator keeps portraying him whenever he features on their platform. After Mwenda promising to work towards ensuring that Gen Museveni, who earlier this year twice featured for such podcast discussions, turns up for the Bad Natives, Onyango-Obbo casually told their emissary (Mwenda) to ensure that the big man’s featuring is preceded by the release of all political prisoners. This is a common reference to Ugandans who continue to languish in prison on political-related offences.

Mwenda sarcastically laughed off this political prisoners-related demand and declared it evidence of the fact that the political differences between Onyango Obbo and Museveni, which began manifesting as early as the founding of Monitor newspaper in 1992, still live on. Kabushenga used to be a diehard Museveni enforcer for all the years he served as the CEO for Vision Group but these days, he is less deferential towards the President and those aiding him to run the Ugandan state.

Away from the Museveni invite, this weekend Bad Natives episode was dedicated to discussing Stephen Nuwagaba (a young man in his 20s) who proved to be a favored genius recently when Gen Museveni authored a long missive justifying his growing relationship and closeness to him, while castigating Mwenda (whose Independent news magazine had spent weeks profiling what they called his fraudulent and blackmail activities).

Mwenda explained on the same Bad Natives podcast how Nuwagaba had been manipulated and paid lots of money by former Speaker Anita Among Magogo to seduce and sleep with Eng Moses Magogo’s wife Charlotte, in order to drive a wedge between them for the former Speaker to monopolize the husband.

Mwenda also said he had finally agreed with Museveni there was need for any effective President to rely on both formal and (the Nuwagaba-like) informal channels of intelligence gathering. Mwenda said that they discussed all these things during his Tuesday meeting with Museveni who he said seemed frustrated upon realizing the extent to which Nuwagaba had manipulated and sold to him lies which he claimed to have obtained through hacking into private phone chats of the President’s most trusted lieutenants.

He said that they had agreed with Museveni to carry out extensive investigations into the activities of a group of powerful people at State House who propped up and enabled Nuwagaba’s deceptive activities that were clearly calculated at destroying the President’s relationship with some of his most loyal aides. He enumerated people who the President sidelined and sanctioned basing on Nuwagaba’s false intelligence and fictitious phone hacking to include former SFC deputy head Gen Charity Bainebabo, Maj Agaba and Susan Kasingye.

Mwenda said the President had finally understood everything and that all the powerful actors at State House, who are part of the Stephen Nuwagaba universe, are soon going to be purged because the big man from Rwakitura had realized they are nothing but saboteurs undermining him from within. Mwenda said there is a lot of very sensitive information about the activities of such internal saboteurs to the extent that he wasn’t comfortable divulging even 5% during the Bad Natives podcast.

Mwenda revealed that he was already putting everything in writing as part of the voluminous report demonstrating the extent to which Nuwagaba had become dangerous to even the President’s own existence. He is supposed to submit his report to the President in the next couple of days. He said the President will compare its contents to what he will be receiving from ISO and CMI on the extent to which Stephen Nuwagaba’s wrongful activities had resulted into the victimization of many innocent people in the security system.

In one of his earlier missives, to which Museveni responded in his recent article, Andrew Mwenda went as far as accusing Stephen Nuwagaba of accessing Kenyan President William Ruto to whom he sold a deceitful story to the effect that the Ugandan big man was actually planning to bump him off. Ironically, it was the same Gen Museveni who had arranged for Stephen Nuwagaba to meet Ruto who was supposed to be a target for some rogue-minded armed group of actors operating in the DR Congo.
