On Friday night, Swangz Avenue sensation Vinka cemented her status as an Afropop titan at her live and loud maiden concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval.

The highly anticipated showcase, powered by Bell Lager and Uganda Waragi, drew thousands of fans and a cross-generational crowd, filling the venue with the kind of energy that is hard to manufacture. And Vinka brought her signature bold, vibrant style to the stage, changing into a series of striking outfits. Each look blended glamour, confidence and show-stopping flair, further reinforcing her status as a fearless performer and Swangz Avenue star.

Taking to the stage to a roaring crowd, the hitmaker delivered a high-energy performance that moved through some of the biggest songs of her career. “Love Panic” had fans on their feet, while “Chips Na Ketchup” turned into one massive singalong, with the crowd doing a good part of the work themselves.

She kept the momentum going with favourites including “All Over You,” “Lalala” and “Gunkwase,” moving effortlessly between feel-good moments and full-on dancefloor energy. Her choreography, stage presence and obvious connection with the audience made it clear why so many fans had been waiting for this night.

“What a night! Vinka gave Kampala exactly what it came for. You could feel the connection between her and the crowd, with people singing, dancing and enjoying every moment. That is what great music should do. We are proud to have supported Vinka on such a big milestone and to have been part of a night that celebrated Ugandan talent in such a big way,” said Lillian Kansiime, Bell Brand Manager, UBL.

Beyond the music, the concert doubled as a showcase of Kampala’s vibrant style scene, with attendees turning out in bold colours, metallic textures and statement streetwear that transformed the venue into a display of the city’s fashion-forward culture.

Uganda Waragi brought its bold spirit to the evening, adding to an atmosphere that was already buzzing long before Vinka stepped onto the stage.

Roy Tumwizere, Uganda Waragi Brand Manager, said the crowd captured exactly what the night was about.

“The energy was something else. You could feel it from the crowd before Vinka even came on stage. She has a very strong connection with her fans, and tonight they came ready to sing, dance and have a good time.”

From fashion-forward Gen-Zs and trendsetting millennials to older music lovers, the energy was high, proving the immense buildup and enthusiasm for her milestone moment was well deserved.

Vinka’s maiden concert truly delivered a masterclass in local pop culture, blending music, fashion, and legacy into a single unforgettable night, and setting a high standard for live entertainment in Kampala this year.

More importantly, it was a celebration of an artist who has built her career on making people dance, sing, and have a good time. (For comments on this story, get back to us on 0705579994 [WhatsApp line], 0779411734 & 041 4674611 or email us at mulengeranews@gmail.com).
