Christian Life Church (CLC), on December 31, 2025, announced a 21-day prayer and fasting programme aimed at guiding believers into the New Year, 2026, as the Church leadership urged believers to begin the year with patience, faith and renewed commitment to God.
The programme was announced during the annual end-of-year prayers held at the church, where thousands of believers gathered to mark the transition into 2026 through worship, prayer and thanksgiving.
Jackson Ssenyonga, the lead pastor, said the prayer and fasting period will run from January 1 to January 21, 2026, and will focus on spiritual renewal, collective prayer and worship, advising that believers will fast throughout the period and break the fast together at the church in Makerere .
During the service, Pastor Ssenyonga encouraged believers who did not achieve certain personal goals in the previous year to remain hopeful and trust in God’s timing, also telling the congregation that delayed blessings should not be a cause for despair, noting that life itself is a reason to thank God.
He also thanked God for guiding the church through 2025, saying the ministry continued despite challenges. He said the church remains committed to strengthening believers spiritually as they face the year ahead.
As part of its January activities, CLC announced that Sunday, January 11, 2026, will be dedicated to child baptism and dedication. The church will also conduct special baptism services later in the month for believers who have not previously received baptism in recognized churches.
The end-of-year prayers also featured testimonies from church members who shared accounts of personal breakthroughs, healing and provision. Others presented written prayer requests for the New Year, covering family, work, health and spiritual growth.
The night ended with extended worship and celebrations, including fireworks, as believers welcomed 2026 in what church leaders described as an atmosphere of faith and expectation.
