In a powerful display of collaboration and commitment to justice, the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) took center stage at the 2nd National Court Open Day, held at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds under the theme “Enhancing Judicial Accountability and Access to Justice.” The event brought together top judicial officials, development partners, and public institutions, providing a unique platform for citizens to engage with the justice system.
NWSC’s multidisciplinary team, comprising legal, commercial, and technical experts, engaged the public on a range of issues. The exhibition tent, buzzing with activity, offered citizens a chance to register complaints, seek clarifications, and receive guidance on water-related matters. The Manager, Public Relations, emphasized the importance of public engagement, encouraging customers to raise concerns for timely resolution.
The Water Loss Prevention Unit highlighted the need for public cooperation in combating illegal water use and reducing non-revenue water. “Together, we can make a difference,” said the Manager, WALOPU. The Principal Legal Officer provided guidance on legal processes relating to water theft, infrastructure vandalism, and dispute resolution, stressing the Corporation’s commitment to protecting public infrastructure.
Further more, the commercial Team addressed billing and customer account issues, offering practical solutions to customers. Meanwhile, the Water Quality Team responded to inquiries on water safety standards and quality assurance processes, reassuring citizens of NWSC’s commitment to providing safe and reliable water services.
NWSC’s participation underscores its dedication to accountability, transparency, and stakeholder engagement. As Uganda’s water sector leader, NWSC continues to support access to justice while advancing its mandate: providing safe, reliable, and sustainable water and sanitation services to all.
