Recently, Nandala Mafabi was hosted on Kabaka’s 88.8 CBS fm radio where he was escorted by his party publicist John Kikonyogo.
The FDC Presidential Candidate was hosted by CBS news manager Alex Nsubuga Katabalwa. During the call-in segment, callers demanded to know why he had abandoned Dr. Kizza Besigye, his mentor, to the extent of not showing any solidarity with him.
One caller demanded to know why Nandala hadn’t attended any of KB’s Court appearances and even the prayers Bobi Wine organized at NUP headquarters for the founding FDC President. Others demanded to know why Nandala wasn’t using the campaign trail to publicize the Besigye persecution.
Others demanded to know why Nandala and POA never prioritized talking about KB’s persecution at Kololo where they recently had the IPOD Summit with Gen Museveni. Nandala had tried to avoid these questions but the moderator, being a senior journalist, appropriately insisted that he says something about their indifference towards Dr. KB since the same was clearly something majority members of the public were interested in.
Nandala reluctantly responded and said he has always been KB’s man who has previously stood surety for him when the regime had locked him up on what he called fabricated treason charges.
“Even on this occasion, there is a lot I’m doing on that Dr. Besigye situation except that I’m not like those other friends of ours who act merely for cameras and will make a video and take photos to publicize what they do each time they purport to stand up and be there for a comrade who is in prison,” is all Nandala Mafabi said towards the end of the program.
