Eng Lillian Nakate Segujja had managed to distinguish herself as a blue-eyed girl of State House and Gen YK Museveni for the years she served as Luwero Woman MP after overcoming Brenda Nabukenya then of DP.
However, she was subsequently swept off the scene and Nabukenya came back as area Woman MP and she remains in charge up to this day on the NUP ticket.
Having realized there was no hope for ever getting the Luwero Seat back again (because fellow NRMs, the general public and the voters) can never consider voting her again, having turned out to be such a selfish user, Nakate quietly relocated to Wakiso.
She positioned herself for Busiro East MP Seat and, having realized there is no chance for NRM in Wakiso, Nakate decided to position herself as a NUP-leaning independent and she badly wants the seat. She must be desperate for a job having ceased to be a Board member at UNRA and UCC where she made very good money for all those years immediately after ceasing to be Luwero Woman MP.
As MP, Nakate got to chair lucrative committees of Parliament such as the one on Infrastructure and there were rumours she was being vetted for a ministerial position to replace Eng Abraham Byandala. In the end, she made some good money but voters were unhappy that she was always eating alone and even cadres inside NRM didn’t want her anymore having established she was merely a user who is only out to exploit those she claims to be her apolitical friends and allies.
But the bigger problem Eng Lillian Nakate Segujja is currently facing in the case of Wakiso’s Busiro East is the fact that he doesn’t seem to know where her constituency exactly passes.
Her posters have ended up being pinned up in places like Seguku which clearly is under David Serukenya’s Makindye Ssabagabo constituency and not in Busiro East where the incumbent is Medard Segona.
This anomaly alone and inability to know where the area she wants to represent passes has armed rivals to decampaign her easily and the potential voters to quickly write off Nakate as a very unserious and unworthy politician.
