In Leaked Private WhatsApp Chats, Beti Kamya Breaks Silence on Being Fired by M7 from IGG office-Reveals Future Plans

By Mulengera Reporters

On Wednesday 8th October 2025, Beti Kamya broke the news of her knifing from the job of being Uganda’s Inspector General of Government (IGG) to her colleague former Ministers who were part of President Museveni’s Cabinet during the 2016-2021 period. These freely interact on a WhatsApp platform aptly named “Former Ministers 2016-2021.” It had been established by Mary Karooro Okurut, who is now deceased.

Many Ministers who served during that time and have since been relieved of their duties are members on that WhatsApp forum. And prominent examples include Molly Kamukama, Sam Kutesa, Mwesigwa Rukutana, John Byabagambi, Benny Namugwanya, David Karubanga, Atwooki Kasirivu, Sarah Opendi, Ann Amelia Kyambadde, Julius Maganda, Moses Kizige, Beti Kamya herself and others.

This is what Beti Kamya posted on the Wednesday of 8th October, breaking the not-so-good news about herself: “So, my dear family of “Former Ministers,” I have bowed off the stage of IGG as God planned it & it’s comforting that He doesn’t make mistakes. That’s what makes us believers strong. Be blessed.”

She proceeded to make it clear that she felt obliged to break the news to her former Cabinet colleagues as opposed to them hearing it as rumours from some other sources.

Amelia Kyambadde and Molly Kamukama responded with words of encouragement. Amelia said she was very proud of Beti Kamya who she said had made her country proud in the decisiveness with which she tackled corruption. Molly Kamukama responded with: “Betty, we thank you for the job well done. There is always another day.”

Kutesa predicted that many more doors would be opened up inside government for Beti Kamya to get another platform to once again serve and contribute to nation-building. This is how he specifically made his case: “Beti congratulations on a term well served. I’m sure we will see you taking on other duties in the service of our people and nation.”

John Byabagambi, a stinking rich former Works Minister from Ibanda, agreed with the complementary messages others had so far posted, agreeing that Beti Kamya had indeed done her best and had been a great IGG.

Humorous as always, Byabagambi offered to help her kill the boredom that comes with becoming jobless in Museveni’s Uganda by introducing her to the game of golf. “I will recruit you in the golfing world…I’m offering you a golf set to start immediately.”

Seemingly enchanted, Beti Kamya responded with: “Wow! Thanks for the bustling positive energy. I will take you up on the golfing offer. There is no age limit on when to begin? Be blessed!” Byabagambi quickly replied clarifying on age-related fears: “For golf, you start at any age. No age limit at all.”

Kind-hearted as always, Amelia Kyambadde kept offering words of encouraging to her ‘beloved sister’ Beti Kamya who at some point posted as follows: “Thanks Amelia. Now I have the time to focus on your campaign [in Mawokota]. How is it going? Be blessed.”

Ever the most talkative in the group, Kutesa (who colleagues call SK) chipped in with “Good luck to Amelia. We need to see you back [in that position of Mawokota North MP].”

The equally very talkative Sarah Opendi Achieng, posted the photo of Naluzze and moved towards inquiring into who this new Lady Justice Gen Museveni had just made the new IGG was or is. “She is the new IGG? I have never heard about this judge!” Opendi accompanied her curious comment with a link of Daily Monitor’s reporting on the new changes at the Ombudsman office.

Then the debate subsequently moved to how costly Presidential Candidate Bobi Wine’s negative commentary on the PDM would be to his campaigning effort. This still was all initiated by ex-Minister Sam Kutesa who posted an audio of the BBC Focus on Africa news program’s reporting on the same.

“This time BBC is spot on,” Kutesa posted a caption accompanying the much-shared audio. Amelia Kyambadde followed it up with the following commentary: “Fixing the pipes vs closing the taps. The BBC analyses Bobi Wine’s plan to abolish PDM.”

Sam Kutesa, whose daughter Charlotte is wife to Gen MK the CDF, praised the British public broadcaster for “defending the PDM better than any of the NRM spokespersons has ever done.”

In the audio, the World Service news platform had its panel explain why PDM was a game changer in the life of millions of ordinary Ugandans who for centuries had been excluded from the money economy.

Museveni clearly got his kudos during that BBC reporting like never before, as his opponent Bobi Wine got castigated for being inept in his politics and campaign messaging. (For comments on this story, get back to us on 0705579994 [WhatsApp line], 0779411734 & 041 4674611 or email us at mulengeranews@gmail.com).
