Collin Hotel proprietor, Augustine Kasozi continues to fight a fight of his lifetime as he seeks to rescue a number of multi-million investments painstakingly put together over many years.
Those properties include Collin Hotel located close to Standard Chartered Bank main branch in Kampala and opposite of Sheraton Hotel.
Kasozi built Collin hotel from scratch more than forty years ago and it will absolutely devastate him were he to lose the same to a much dreaded auctioneer’s hammer.
The other investment belonging to Kasozi on the radar of auctioneers is Kireka based Sports View Hotel.
Though it was previously rumored that a group of foreign investors, had purchased Sports View, the same property appears on a list of investments lined up for a looming court hearing.
Kasozi is currently fighting off Baroda Bank and Quickly Auctioneers who want to auction the above-mentioned investments over unpaid loans estimated to be worth billions of shillings.
His fight is unfolding on the floors of the commercial courts based in Kampala. So far, Kasozi fortunately boasts of court injunctions much as they are not permanent, implying they can be vacated by courts should a need arise.
Justice Susan Nabiryo is scheduled to hear the cases on November 4 this year. As the trial unfolds, Kasozi’s well-wishers, including this writer, must keep praying for the businessman who also owns one of the country’s oldest bookshop known as Mukono bookshop.
