Police have launched a manhunt for former NRM flag bearer for Masaka Woman Member of Parliament, Justine Nameere and her husband over a violent assault and robbery involving presidential advisor and singer Jennifer Nakangubi, also known as Full Figure.
According to an official statement from Kampala Metropolitan Police, Full Figure filed a case alleging that she was attacked, beaten nearly to death, and robbed of Sh500,000 and her mobile phone by Nameere and her husband on Friday, August 29, 2025, along Kyadondo Road in Nakasero.
The violent incident occurred as Full Figure was en route to a hotel to attend a press conference organized by Moses Karangwa, a defeated NRM CEC candidate currently disputing the election outcome.
KMP Spokesperson Patrick Onyango confirmed the case has been registered, and a serious manhunt is underway for Nameere and her spouse, who are wanted for questioning on charges of aggravated assault and robbery.
“We are treating this as a criminal case involving a high-profile victim and known suspects. Detectives have already visited the scene, recorded statements, and identified witnesses. The suspects are on the run, and our teams are actively tracking them,” Onyango stated.
Victim Left Bloodied, Robbed
In her statement, Full Figure recounted how she received a phone call allegedly from Karangwa requesting her urgent presence at the NRM Electoral Commission offices.
She says she complied, unaware she was walking into an ambush.
Upon arrival, she claims she was attacked by a group of men armed with machetes and knives, with Justine Nameere allegedly directing the assault.
“They beat me like a thief, I was bleeding and couldn’t even scream,” Full Figure told officers. “Nameere was standing there, commanding them. I recognized her clearly.”
In addition to physical injuries, Full Figure said her phone and Sh500,000 in cash were stolen during the attack.
Police Building Case, Political Motive Suspected
Investigators suspect the incident may be politically motivated, given the rising tension within the NRM Central Executive Committee (CEC) circles.
Full Figure is known to be a staunch supporter of Haruna Kasolo, who defeated Karangwa in the recently concluded CEC race.
Nameere, on the other hand, has emerged as Karangwa’s close ally and outspoken surrogate, allegedly leading efforts to discredit the election outcome.
Her visible role in defending Karangwa has raised eyebrows and, now, serious criminal charges.
Wanted: Justine Nameere
Detectives have issued an internal alert for the arrest of Justine Nameere and her husband, urging the public to report any sightings or useful information to the nearest police station.
“They are currently evading law enforcement, which raises further concern,” Onyango said. “No one is above the law. Once apprehended, they will face the full force of the law.”
Public Reaction and Political Fallout
The case has ignited debate about rising political violence and impunity within high-ranking circles. Social media is flooded with reactions and photos of Full Figure’s injuries, sparking public sympathy and demands for justice.
Meanwhile, Full Figure has vowed to pursue the case to the end:
“I may be bruised, but I’m not afraid. They tried to silence me, but I will not be intimidated,” she said.
DEVELOPING: Police Continue Hunt for Suspects
As the manhunt intensifies, pressure is mounting on both the NRM leadership and law enforcement to take decisive action. (For comments on this story, get back to us on 0705579994 [WhatsApp line], 0779411734 & 041 4674611 or email us at mulengeranews@gmail.com).
