A few hours ago, FDC youth league chairman Walid Mulindwa left Kyambogo University campus smiling from ear to ear like a teenager who has just fallen in love. Working with other Nakawa FDC leaders like Lord Councilors Olive Namazzi, Alice Amony and Mugisha Okwera, Walid has been camping in Kyambogo for the last few days sweating to market his party candidate Germany Amanya. After being marred by chaos, the much prolonged polling finally took Wednesday yesterday and by the time the final vote was counted (deep in the night), Amanya had comfortably trounced 9 other competitors to become Guild President to the country’s 2nd largest and most prestigious academic institution after Makerere University. In delivering this win, which other parties like NRM also badly wanted and were menacingly working for, Walid Mulindwa closely worked with FDC Kyambogo chapter bosses led by Mohammed Semujju and Micheal Ashaba.
