The Chief Executive Officer of Elevate Her Uganda, Natukunda Loice, has hailed Hon. Gen. Kahinda Otafiire, Uganda’s Minister of Internal Affairs, as a true champion of grassroots empowerment and development, calling on voters in Ruhinda to continue entrusting him with leadership.

Speaking over the weekend while on a women empowerment tour in Ruhinda, Natukunda praised Gen. Otafiire for his longstanding commitment to the people, particularly women and youth, through practical and people-centered development programs.

“In every area where Elevate Her Uganda has implemented empowerment initiatives, Ruhinda stands out above the rest and that’s because of Gen. Kahinda’s leadership. His vision aligns almost perfectly with ours,” Natukunda remarked during her visit.

She noted that the impact of Gen. Otafiire’s work goes beyond policy and politics. According to her, his personal involvement in skilling, mobilization, and local development has created an enabling environment for organizations like Elevate Her Uganda to deliver results.

“He is not just a national leader or a historical figure in Uganda’s liberation. He is a present and active force for change, whose commitment has made our work in Ruhinda smooth, effective, and impactful,” she said.

Natukunda commended the minister for being deliberate about empowering women, youth, and men alike, long before empowerment became a buzzword. She described him as a leader who understands both national transformation and grassroots needs.

She expressed gratitude for the community support Elevate Her Uganda has received in the area and contrasted it with her own home area of Kashari, where she says such empowerment has not yet taken root in the same way.

“As a woman and leader, I must say the people of Ruhinda are blessed. They have a representative who speaks for them nationally and works with them locally. Gen. Kahinda has truly made our mission easier, and for that, we are thankful.”

Natukunda concluded by calling on the electorate to support leaders who invest in real, lasting development, saying such leadership must be recognized and upheld for the good of future generations.

Elevate Her Uganda is a national non-profit focused on women’s empowerment through skills training, entrepreneurship, and leadership development. Its programs have reached several districts across Uganda, and Ruhinda is now being showcased as a model for community readiness and government collaboration.
