With a clear focus on enhancing national service delivery and aviation standards, the Director of Citizenship and Immigration Control, Maj. Gen. Apollo Kasiita Gowa, led a high-level delegation to Entebbe International Airport on Thursday.
The visit, which underscored growing inter-agency collaboration, featured a stakeholder engagement meeting with officials from the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA), spearheaded by the airport’s General Manager, Mr. Emmanuel Barungi.
In a show of commitment to continuous improvement, the teams discussed key operational issues and shared insights aimed at boosting efficiency in passenger processing, security protocols, and overall travel experience.
Kasiita and his team also toured several sections of the airport undergoing infrastructure upgrades, works that are part of CAA’s broader initiative to modernize Uganda’s main gateway and align it with international standards.
“Our presence here is not just symbolic, but about partnership and progress,” Kasiita remarked, adding that what they do at Immigration must seamlessly connect with what Civil Aviation does. “We are all serving the same traveler.”
Mr. Barungi welcomed the collaboration and reiterated CAA’s commitment to delivering world-class services. “Our upgrades are not just cosmetic, but targeted investments in efficiency, safety, and comfort. We’re grateful for the continued support and cooperation from DCIC,” he said.
The visit marked another step forward in efforts to ensure that Entebbe International Airport remains a beacon of excellence and national pride.
