Multiple sources have revealed that President Museveni was in a very angry mood as he steered this week’s cabinet meeting with his Ministers. The meeting took place on Monday and Mulengera news has established that Museveni, who was unusually tough-talking, furiously questioned whether the current Ministers still have any relevancy to him.
He was angry that, having taken advantage of what he called an introverted cabinet, Bobi Wine and his People Power adherents had taken over the airwaves to the total exclusion of the ruling NRM. He questioned why cabinet ministers are withdrawn from and invisible on the airwaves where they should ordinarily be appearing often to counter opposition propaganda.
“We aren’t on radios and Bobi Wine has taken over. He is the one most of the radios are working for as if we don’t have relevant government departments to counter his lies,” Museveni said clearly putting incumbent Ministers on notice how the day of reckoning was soon coming.
Sources say that because of dismay with which a visibly very disappointed Museveni spoke, none of the Ministers had the guts to respond to him regarding the alleged domination of the airwaves by Mr. Wine. “Those Bobi Wine people are going to cause genocide unless we get up very fast and respond to the hatred and falsehoods they are propagating everywhere,” reportedly said Museveni who kept asking some Ministers “what exactly are you in this cabinet for?”

Knowledgeable sources say Museveni is seemingly missing very energetic Ministers like Kabakumba Matsiko and Rose Namayanja who used their respective dockets to enthusiastically fight for him while taking on his political adversaries.
“Yes I’m the President of Uganda but I have now been left to perform the job of being the chief government spokesman and I don’t know why Ministers are reluctant to speak on radio to counter opposition lies and defend government positions,” Museveni reportedly said.
He said because of this betrayal, he had worked out a program to tour the whole country where he will personally appear on radios to detoxicate the falsehoods that have been propagated by Mr. Wine’s People Power adherents. Sources close to the meeting say that the fury with which Museveni spoke gave many incumbent Ministers the impression, few of them will survive the impending cabinet massacre since the big man seems to be disappointed with almost everybody.
Sources further say that the dissatisfaction with which Museveni spoke during the Monday Cabinet meeting partly explains why airwaves regulator UCC has all of a sudden resorted to cracking the whip on channels like Dr. Kin Kariisa’s NBS whose management has since been directed to suspend some producers behind the broadcasting of content that has since been construed by government to be pro-Bobi Wine and the opposition cause in general.
NEW CABINET?
Today Wednesday evening after presiding over Labor Day celebrations in Agago, Museveni behaved in a manner that only increased anxiety amongst Ministers who are increasingly unsure of being spared the knife in the impending reshuffle. From Agago, he flew directly to Kisozi in Gomba district where (at the time of posting this story) he was said to be finalizing and putting final touches to his new cabinet reshuffle list.
