As February comes to an end, the Uganda Revenue Authority is closing the month with momentum after rolling out one of its busiest tax education calendars yet.
For 28 straight days, URA teams have been on the move across Uganda — meeting traders, manufacturers, contractors, farmers, landlords, students, and local leaders.
From Kagadi to Masindi, Hoima to Jinja, and Soroti to Moroto, the message has been direct and practical: understand your taxes, stay compliant, and grow your business the right way.
Tax Katale events lit up marketplaces in Kagadi and Masindi. Workshops targeted the manufacturing, construction, education, agriculture, real estate, hotel, and accommodation sectors. Business communities in Hoima held hands-on sessions with URA experts. Sugarcane farmers in Masindi and contractors linked to Kinyara Sugar Works were brought into focused engagements.
Webinars ran throughout the month, tackling hot topics like EFRIS, withholding tax, digital tax stamps, and online tax processes. Traders were shown how to use systems properly. Clearing agents and WHT agents were guided on their roles. Rental sector players and coffee dealers were not left out.
Youth engagements in Moroto, women-focused meetings in Soroti, and Indian Association sector discussions in Iganga showed that URA’s reach cut across age, gender, and business categories.
Behind the scenes, curriculum development activities for TVET institutions and universities moved forward. E-learning modules were developed. Skit productions were prepared to spread tax messages in simple and creative ways.
Now, as the calendar flips toward March, one thing is clear.
February has not been ordinary.
It has been a month of action, visibility, and direct engagement. URA did not wait for taxpayers to come looking for help. It took tax education to the streets, the districts, the markets, and the boardrooms.
The result is a stronger connection with communities and a louder reminder that tax education is not a one-day event, but a continuous national mission.
