Bobi Wine Was Bribed With Shs6m To Plunge into Arua By-elections- Kassiano Wadri Spills All The Dirty Secrets Six Years Later
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

By Mulengera Reporters

After ex-Makindye East MP Ibrahim Kasozi came out to refute Mzee Kassiano Wadri’s allegations seeking to downplay Robert Kyagulanyi’s role in his victory in the August 2018 Arua Municipality byelection campaigns, Kampala lawyer Caleb Alaka has added his voice making it clear that the veteran politician and also ex-Terego County MP is a peddler of nothing but fake news.

In an emailed message to Mulengera News, Alaka clarified that its true he was a leading supporter and promoter of rich man Robert Ejiku who stood as an independent candidate in that race following the assasination of Col Abraham Abiriga who Arua residents had voted to be their MP in 2016-but vigorously denied ever being the conduit through whom a bribe of Shs6m was delivered to Bobi Wine who as of that time was at the peak of his popularity having earlier on successfully delivered Asuman Basalirwa in Bugiri Municipality.

Caleb Akala unequivocally added that he never availed Bobi Wine with Shs6m as a bribe or facilitation for him to drive to Arua and amplify the cause for his candidate Ejiku.

The flamboyant Kampala lawyer recognizes that Kassiano Wadri is an otherwise respectable and senior citizen of Uganda who ought to behave as one as opposed to lying through his teeth before media cameras. The senior Kampala lawyer further asserts that he has a good name and reputation which shouldn’t be disparaged and ruined through Mzee Kassiano Wadri’s lies and wild falsehoods.

Quoted verbattim, Caleb Alaka wrote as follows:

Debunking and exposing the falseness of the wild allegations by Hon. Kassiano Wadri.

My attention has been [drawn] to some wild and false allegations by Hon. Kassiano Wadri in which he stated that I delivered 6M to Bobi Wine as transport for him to come to Arua to support Ejiku Robert.

For the record, I did not meet or give 6M shillings or any amount of money to Bobi Wine in whatever name whether as fuel or a bribe for him to come to Arua and support Ejiku Robert as alleged by Hon. Kassiano Wadri in his interview.

Following the demise of the late Hon. Abiriga, one of the candidates who participated in the Arua Municipality by election was Hon. Ejiku Robert. I supported Hon. Ejiku a gentleman I know who is honest and trustworthy and not your everyday lying politician.

Hon. Ejiku Robert was an independent candidate and it is therefore not true as alleged by Hon. Kassiano Wadri that he participated in the NRM primaries won by Hon. Nusura Tiperu. As a senior politician and an elder, I did not expect Hon. Kassiano Wadri to tell lies with a straight face while addressing journalists.

Such lies dent the reputation of innocent persons and is not acceptable especially when it is being peddled by a senior citizen and respectable elder like Hon. Kassiano Wadri. I saw the recording of his interview and had chosen to ignore it but when I saw the news in print, I decided to set the record straight.

I have no idea why a respectable person like Hon. Kassiano chooses to lie to the whole world on such an issue. I reiterate that it is a lie. Lastly, I am not a dealer as reported by you. I am a distinguished and decorated high profile Advocate of the Courts of Judicature whose record of handling groundbreaking cases in the Supreme Court of Uganda does not need any introduction.
