Kasanda South MP Simeo Nsubuga has declared himself the political Mahogany for Mubende district. While speaking during a fundraising function at Nyanzi Church of Uganda near his home on Sunday, Simeo Nsubuga mocked his opponent Micheal Muhumuza Ssula mpya saying it was futile to think of ever defeating him in 2021. “I’m the mahogany of this place and if you compare the big man (Nyombi Thembo) I ferried in 2016, there is no way you can say that my current opponent stands any chance.” Simeo was speaking after the Sunday morning fracas which saw his supporters descend on the close to 100 bags of cement Ssula Mpya had brought as his contribution and destroyed it to nothing. As his supporters blocked the truck carrying the cement, Simeo was keenly following from his house which is within spitting distance from the Church. Women uniting under Mother’s Union at the same Church cursed Simeo for ” being very stingy (mukoddo/mukono gum) yet he doesn’t want our church to receive support from generous givers like Ssula Mpya.” The women dismissed the relentless Simeo as nothing but an envious politician who is nervously panicking over his new challenger for the NRM primaries.
