It has come to our attention that some unscrupulous individuals are out there operating in the digital space with an aim of criminally holding themselves out as us (Mulengera Media) whereas not. For the record, we operate a news website (www.mulengeranews.com) and a facebook page named Mulengera Media. We are dully licensed by Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) among other regulatory authorities to do this kind of work. Our colors are red and white.
And desirous to mislead the unsuspecting public, the unscrupulous actors have criminally created their own www.mulengeranews.co and one has to be extra keen to tell the difference between that fictitious website and ours. Clearly with fraudulent intentions (to mislead the public), the unscrupulous website carries our exact logos and colors.
The latest story on the fake Mulengera news website
The name too is similar except that ours ends with dotcom (i.e. www.mulengeranews.com) yet the unscrupulous one ends with dotco (i.e www.mulengeranews.co). All this can’t be coincidence. It can only be an outcome to deliberate efforts to act maliciously and fraudulently which is to misrepresent and mislead the public.
When it comes to the facebook page, the unscrupulous one appears as Mulengera Medias to create closest resemblance to ours which is Mulengera Media (without S). The unscrupulous actors only added an S at the end. The same facebook account carries our exact colors (red and white) and logo.

Remarkably, the reporting thereon is very intriguing and clearly not our type. The layout, diction and style of writing is clearly different from ours. Our diction and style of presenting news is clearly very distinguishable from what appears on the impugned website.
Remedially, on top of our own efforts we have brought all this intriguing criminal activity to the attention of the relevant authorities/agencies of government and we are certain remedial action will be taken soonest. MANAGEMENT.
