POA Amuriat Skipped Besigye Prayers At Kavule Because He’d Better Things to Do

During the Saturday CBS panel discussion, Mawokota South MP Yusuf Nsibambi (who is also the FDC Deputy President for Buganda) narrated how party Secretary General Nandala Mafabi these days doesn’t easily take his phone calls.

Appearing with PFF’s Erias Lukwago, NRM’s Kasule Sebunya and James Kakooza of NRM too, Nsibambi said that LoP Joel Ssenyonyi rang him earlier in the week and requested him to help request Nandala Mafabi to turn up at NUP headquarters at Kavule to participate in prayers the party had organized for the ailing FDC founding President Kizza Besigye who had continued to be imprisoned even as his health deteriorated.

Ssenyonyi had personally been trying to get hold of Nandala in vain as his phone calls kept being disregarded. He thought that being a fellow FDC top executive member, Yusuf Nsibambi (the DP and FDC whip in Parliament) would be able to get hold of Nandala Mafabi much more easily.

Yet, unknown to Ssenyonyi, Nsibambi’s calls were equally disregarded as he explained to millions of CBS listeners this Saturday morning. FDC’s absence at the Kavule prayers was conspiceous and had several social media users castigating the leaders at Najjanankumbi for being ungrateful to Dr. KB for the role he played in founding FDC and making the great party it initially became. This is why Najjanankumbi’s absence ended up being a major topic for discussion during the CBS Saturday panel discussion.

Nsibambi said it was hard for him to do the needful as required by Ssenyonyi because all his phone calls to Nandala Mafabi were disregarded. This prevented him from having any access to the belligerent Secretary General who never even bothered to call back. Nsibambi added that even the Party President POA was equally not easy to access though he eventually picked up.

Amuriat informed Nsibambi he was unable to come for the prayers at Kavule because he had better things to do than go to pray for Dr. Besigye’s health. That Amuriat informed Nsibambi he had a very important political engagement in Kumi which he couldn’t postpone merely to go to Kavule to pray for Dr. Kizza Besigye.

“You know he is campaigning to become an MP from his home area and he told me that he had a group of elders to meet as he prepares to launch his campaigns,” Nsibambi explained to CBS listeners. Nsibambi also admitted that he no longer has effective control over MPs from the FDC party who he is mandated to ship.

Nsibambi confessed that they have all been captured by Gen Museveni through Speaker Anita Among just like the rest from other opposition parties. It’s increasingly becoming clear that what remains of FDC Najjanankumbi will struggle to retain even 10 MPs in the 12th Parliament. (For comments on this story, get back to us on 0705579994 [WhatsApp line], 0779411734 & 041 4674611 or email us at mulengeranews@gmail.com).
