OPTIMISM AS BOBI WINE IS NAMED AMONG 100 MOST INFLUENTIAL AFRICANS

For the last four years, MIYA an African pressure group with a lot of influence among the continent’s young people has annually been outing a list of 100 Most Influential Young Africans (MIYA). This year 2018’s prestigious list is out and our own Bobi Wine Kyagulanyi Sentamu the MP Kyaddondo East [and leader of the People Power Movement (PPM)] is ranked number 76 on the list of Africa’s 100 most powerfully influential young people. He is the only Ugandan and just one of the two East Africans on the list.

MIYA VERBATTIM;

2018 100 Most Influential Young Africans Announced. 100 young achievers from 26 African countries have been announced by Africa Youth Awards as part of the 2018 list of 100 Most Influential Young Africans. The annual prestigious list which was launched in 2016 and currently in its third year features young politicians, activists, entrepreneurs, entertainers, digital influencers, philanthropists & athletes across 10 distinct categories who are blazing various trails and promoting the positive image of Africa across the globe. Speaking about the publication, Prince Akpah, founding President of Africa Youth Awards, curators of the list noted; the current list features a record 90 new entrants and 43 females. According to him, this year’s honorees were listed for their individual and collective contributions towards positioning the image of Africa as frontrunners in their respective fields. He also urged other young Africans to emulate the footstep of the listed individuals and join them to make Africa a better and safer place for young dreamers. Notable among the 2018 honorees are Uganda’s Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu  (Bobi Wine), Togo’s Farida Bemba Nabourema, Egypt’s Mohamed Salah, Nigeria’s Davido, Guinea’s ABD Traore, Kenya’s  Xtian Dela, South Africa’s Cassper Nyovest and Tanzania’s Alikiba. Youngest duos on the list include Musician Nasty C from South Africa and Nigeria’s Social Entrepreneur, Wadi Ben-Hirki at 21 years. Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana & Tanzaania all lead the list with 20, 17, 12 & 8 representatives respectively. The list which was compiled in partnership with Avance Media, mynaijanaira.com & Made Marketing Group presents an opportunity for young Africans to stay committed to their individual causes and continue to blaze trails across their various fields.
