FDC’s strong man Abdul Katuntu has made shocking remarks saying that the opposition where he is an influential figure is not capable to capture state power. Featuring on Capital FM’s famous Capital Gang program where he was hosted by Oscar Semweya Musoke today (Saturday) morning, Katuntu said that the opposition in Uganda is not prepared for state house because political parties in opposition have different values and agendas. The outspoken Bugweri County MP who once served as the Opposition Chief Whip in Parliament, said that even if the political parties and others calling themselves forces of change unite to remove president Museveni, will not handle the post Museveni situation because they are divided on values and agenda. Katuntu who talked without favor or fear strongly warned those talking of united forces to oust Museveni to be keen and careful to avoid situations that he seen in countries like Zaire, Ethiopia, Libya and Central Africa Republic. “Zaire forces united and removed Mobutu and thought they had done good job to the extent of renaming the country from Zaire to Democratic Republic of Congo but later turned to be a Republic of Confusion because those forces didn’t have common values,” Katuntu said.
MAO SPEAKS OUT
DP President General Norbert Mao who was in the same program said that: “Yes I agree with you that there is a lot of confusion among the forces for change but they are again internally organizing themselves with one agenda of post Museveni Uganda.” Mao revealed that the four giants who include Kizza Besigye, Mugisha Muntu, Bobi Wine and Nobert Mao are engaged in behind the curtain talks discussing transitional matters. Mao said that the only people who are confusing the opposition are those he referred to as meal card politicians who joins parties for meal cards to go to leadership when their agendas are different from those of the parties. He however said that it’s difficult to avoid the situational politicians and leaders whom he said has a history of 90 years and their target is nothing other than meal cards. “These emerged during the 1900 Buganda agreement and made Kabaka sign it because they wanted commission [Enjawulo] and it didn’t stop their it again appeared during the Kabaka Yeka where they abandoned Kabaka and then lastly those who had Semogerere in Museveni’s government, when he called them to get out of Museveni’s bandwagon after realizing that Museveni was getting a stray ,they said their problem was Obote who had denied them meal cards but Semogerere stood courage and left to the Movement to reorganize for political parties,” said Mao. He said that DP an exceptional but because it has principled leaders which is the reason it has managed to exist for many years without falling for meal cards.
