Ibrahim Kasozi, the Makindye East MP has spoken out explaining how he found himself joining NRM MPs to go visit Bobi Wine on Sunday evening at his Makindye detention facility. He says he got a sudden phone call from fellow MP Anita of Bukedea saying “you are a friend of Bobi Wine we have this chance come and we go to see him.” Kasozi says he consulted a few opposition friends who encouraged him to go “because we agreed we must use every chance to visit and encourage Bobi.” Speaking in Kampala, a short while ago, Kasozi faulted his fellow MPs for the “false misleading narrative they are giving clearly misrepresenting our honorable colleague Bobi Wine.” He says they arrived at 4pm and on seeing them, Bobi Wine who was eating katogo showed joy and excitement. “How do they say he was very fine when he hugged me when seated and failed to hug Doreen Amulle because of too much pain in his chair? Even when we supported him to stand he could only do it on one leg. He can’t sit on his own and told us he cries the whole night because of too much pain. He even said Zzake wasn’t beaten compared to what I went through. He has severe chest pain and his right eye is swollen. He told us the military hasn’t done any scan. They took him there and the machine was down. He says he is still waiting up to now.My colleagues are saying he was in a good mood and even cracked jokes. Really? This is what happened: Bobi said friends those men [obusajja] beat me thoroughly and they should be given a medal in beating because they really clobbered me. That of course was funny the way you know Bobi and we all laughed. He said it in a way that made us laugh. I think this is why they are saying that he is okay. That he praised the UPDF doctors? That is not true. He told us his head and lips were swollen too much and said they are now better and improved because of the treatment the army doctors gave him. Is that what they call praising that Bobi praised those soldiers and their doctors? He said army doctors were honest and told him his kidney isn’t okay. It was affected. I think he even has a fracture in one of his this because he seemed to have too much pain. Those colleagues lied maybe being able to talk is what they considered being fine. They got the speaker online and she spoke to Bobi on the phone of army spokesman. Bobi made two requests to the Speaker. He said please help me be released from here and to also get proper treatment. He was very emphatic on that point that he needs help. He even called me back as we left and emphasized that please tell other friends to do all they can to help me get out of this place so that I go and get proper treatment. Even as I left him he said guys fight for me,” says Kasozi who belongs to FDC, a party in which he is a founder member. Some of the MPs Kasozi went with include Peter Ogwang, Arinaitwe Rwakajara, Doreen Amulle and others.
