Commander Deo Mutasubwa, a leading NRM media activist on Kampala radios, has publicly advised Bobi Wine and his NUP supporters in Kiboga to become more realistic and begin to concentrate on political races which they can win and forget about the Presidency for as long as Gen YK Museveni is still alive.
Mutasubwa was speaking to hundreds of Kiboga residents who this Thursday gathered at Kiboga Saza headquarters to listen to UCC ED Nyombi Thembo who had come to explain to them why community radios aka the Bizindaalos had been banned and shut down after operators turned them into platforms to abuse the President while glorifying his opponent Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu of National Unity Platform.
The banning and shuting down of such community radios affected a lot of people in Kiboga who relied on to preach the gospel, proclaim death announcements, get information and for income source for the case of the young people who relied on them for business and employment.
So, Desire Muhooza (the daughter of Gen Salim Saleh) used her Desire Muhooza Foundation to bring for them Nyombi Thembo to come and explain why the ban while listening to the cries of the people of Kiboga Town Council who have been missing such community radios for entertainment, news and employment or livelihood.
Muhooza is currently a key stakeholder in Kiboga district where she wants to become the Woman MP replacing NUP’s Christine Kaaya Nakimwero come 2026. So, the public meeting she organised at Saaza grounds became a platform to promote the NRM messaging while contradicting NUP and the larger opposition.
In his speech, Kampala-based media activist Commander Deo Mutasubwa warned Kiboga residents not to waste their time accepting to be excited and incited against the person of Gen Museveni because there is no way anyone is going to ever get him out of office for as long as he is still alive and interested in the job of being President for Uganda.
He explained: “That man is very lucky and is the only one in Uganda who can never lose an election. He is empowered by law to be the one to have the last word on the vote and he can decide how many votes and what percentage to give to himself against his opponents. I advise you people to concentrate on things which your NUP can have chance to win. Things like Councilors but for President, don’t even waste your time. And there is no reason why any of our boys in Kiboga should get taken away in Drone operations because he participated in abusing the President who we know can’t be defeated in an election. Let our boys concentrate on supporting people for races like MP level or even Councilors where change and victory are possible.”
He also advised those intending to run for elective positions like MP or even Councilor level positions to prepare to have a lot of money because where things have reached, the poor can’t succeed in elections at whatever level in Uganda anymore. “If you don’t have Shs500m, I don’t see how you can even go mid-way campaigning for the position of Woman MP Kiboga. My dear sister don’t waste your small ka-salary competing against that incumbent Woman MP Nakimwero of NUP. She gets Shs55m per month as salary. She also got Shs200m for the vehicle as a new MP and another Shs100m every MP got to pass a certain a law and all that is being kept for her war chest.”
As the crowd ululated, Museveni’s veteran media activist added: “So, if you are my poor sister based in Kiboga here, be careful as you fight for the NRM ticket. That’s the NUP woman you are going to face. Do you have the money to match Nakimwero’s billions? This is the reason why I suggest that we leave the NRM flag for people who have financial means like our sister Desire Muhooza here. It’s really about money and I don’t see how any of you my other sisters [only based here in Kiboga living on a small salary] are going to manage Nakimwero. It’s now about money and many other things, which is why whoever can’t mobilise and put together a minimum of Shs500m shouldn’t waste time trying to come for this race. Let’s leave it for Desire and we jointly take on moneybags Christine Kaaya Nakimwero.” (For comments on this story, get back to us on 0705579994 [WhatsApp line], 0779411734 & 041 4674611 or email us at mulengeranews@gmail.com).
